Ronald Filante
Ron is an Emeritus Associate Professor of Finance. His M.S. and Ph.D. are in Economics from Purdue University.
His financial planning practice focuses around serving clients who need advice in areas of retirement planning, wealth accumulation and risk management. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Abbott House, a 60 year old community services organization based in Irvington, NY. He also chairs their Finance Committee where he oversees the management of the employees’ 403b plan and the Board Designated Fund.
For the past 25 years Filante has also served as an expert in the financial litigation area. He has testified in FINRA Arbitration cases, SEC Administrative Hearings and, and criminal court.
Filante’s research focus is investments and security valuation. His greatest teaching success was the development and implementation of Finance 357, the Student Managed Investment Portfolio. The class manages a portion of the University’s endowment, and provides students the opportunity to act as equity analysts and managers.
